Handpipe

So I bought an all black (bowl & stem / mouthpiece) handpipe from Heir earlier this year. When it arrived it was like opening an iphone - the packaging gave the impression that I was opening something of value. The bowl is heavy in the hand which makes it feel like you are holding something substantial adding to the feeling of quality. The performance is far beyond any handpipe I’ve ever owned or used - in a word, “smooth”. The filters and screens make a huge difference - not so harsh on the throat and no coughing after deep hits.

I liked the first handpipe I bought so much that when I saw the combination of Gold tone bowl with walnut wood stem / mouthpiece, I had to have one. This purchase was all about aesthetics, physical touch and tactile function. To me the color combination looked masculine and refined. The thought that instantly came to mind was a gentleman or man of means in the 1800’s or early 1900’s who knows quality would own this pipe. He would retreat into his parlor and sit by a fire for a smoke session in the evening after a long day and a great meal with a snifter of top shelf brandy on the table next to him. Clearly I’m guilty of having an over active imagination. I actually bought 2 of the gold bowl / walnut stem handpipes and gave one to a cherished friend as a gift who loves it. It was cool to see him open the gift because his first impression was much like mine, he knew he was opening a quality item. Same performance and physical function as the first handpipe I purchased but I feel differently using it. I’d take the first handpipe I bought to a concert, get togethers or other events. This recent hand-pipe only comes out for my private smoke sessions in the back yard by the pool when I am done with a hard week and need to wind down, quiet the world and let euphoria blissfully overtake me for a few hours. If you take nothing else away from this review, know that Heir makes top quality, dare I say luxury handpipes. Yes you will pay a few bucks for it but it is well worth the money. Take it from somebody who bought three and gave one away as a gift in the last 6 months, you won’t find a better quality handpipe out there.

Quality materials, near-perfect size, easy to clean. Suggest buying screens and a pouch with initial purchase.

I can’t begin to explain how much I love this pipe and it’s only been a week :) This pipe is magnificent to hold, it reminds me of my first iPhone or MacBook Pro. The engineering and attention to detail is something you usually only find on products made by Apple! Well done Heir!!! I’m a HUGE fan for life! I do have ONE request… make a hard case for it as well. Think violin, molded insert with soft fabric walls to cradle the “instrument”. Anyone that pays $120 for a product of this caliber will pay even more to protect it.

I haven't found a better bowl than this one, it cleans in under 5 minutes and it just to easy to carry around. It falls into my everyday carry, it's pretty much always on me.
